PART 1: CHOOSE YOUR OWN RIVER ADVENTURE

  • Come along on a virtual journey on the Chicago River.  As you click through the digital experience you’ll learn about the science, history, recreation, and nature that’s found along this waterway.
  • For Students:   When you open the Google Slides, click Present, and then “navigate” your way along the Chicago River.  Be sure to click around, you never know what you may discover on your watery journey.

PART 2: WATER QUALITY EXPLORATION 

  • The next part of your water journey explores the science of water quality, the three branches of the Chicago River, and introduces you to the real science data that Current is collecting to monitor our local water.  Here are the three components your class will discover:

    • C. Real Science Data
  • For Students:   You’ll be able to check out real water quality data that’s been collected in Chicago.  Be sure to read all the directions carefully in the Student Worksheet.  There are a lot of tips and explanations to guide you.

PART 3: WATER CONNECTIONS

  • Now that you have a foundation of knowledge about the Chicago River and water quality science, take some time to think about what water means to you and how you can make a positive impact on your local waterways.
